Unity of Pompano Beach is planning to take advantage of its location in a Halloween-crazy neighborhood to treat hundreds of kids and parents with candy, smiles and warm invitations to upcoming services and a fundraising sale.

“This neighborhood is serious about Halloween,” says the Rev. DarbyMackenzie Line, Director of Operations. “The decorations are off the charts and there’s even a home that puts together a truly terrifying haunted house. People from many areas nearby drop their kids off to trick or treat; literally there must be at least 1,000 people who are on the streets.
Unity of Pompano Beach will be handing out goodie bags with candy and info about sweet opportunities to connect with its community.
“We have our tag sale coming up, so we’ll attach a card with that and the Sunday Celebration time on it, of course ,with link to the website. I think it’s going to be a fun time.”
Unity of Pompano Beach has been getting ready for Halloween since early September. Here’s how the church is enrolling its members and friends, through the following message in weekly emails:

Have scary good time meeting and greeting our neighbors!
How your can help: Donate a bag of candy; pack goodie bags; be a spooky greeter (in costume)!!
Decorate your car trunk and hand out candy in front of the church on Halloween!!
Each year on Halloween, our neighborhood is flooded with families enjoying the holiday festivities. You’ll probably notice the large scary structures that will begin to go up across the street and throughout this area that draws hundreds if not thousands of people to our block on October 31.
We would like to capitalize on these crowds by inviting them to Unity’s Saturday 11/2 tag sale, and Sunday 11/3 service with a card attached to candy we will hand out.
This is a fun, “get to know the neighbors” event!
